Wings of Hope didn’t start from nothing. It sits on top of five decades of work by the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE), established in 1975 to advance aerospace engineering, aviation safety and workforce capability in Singapore.
As the industry globalised, SIAE set up an international arm — the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers International (SIAEi) — to build partnerships, workforce development and collaboration beyond Singapore’s borders. Wings of Hope is SIAEi’s flagship initiative: the same technical credibility and industry relationships, aimed specifically at displaced and vulnerable youths who would otherwise never get near an aviation career.
Since our inaugural launch on 2 July 2026, momentum has moved quickly: a Founding Advisory Council has come together with leaders from aviation, diplomacy, business and the community; our first AI learning cohort is underway; and we’re in active discussions with government agencies, education institutions, technology partners and employers to expand the pathways ahead. None of it replaces the fifty years behind it — it extends them.
